Margaret O'Donnell
Founder
Margaret O’Donnell founded AMES in 2019 following a distinguished 30-year career as a Critical Care Emergency Nurse at The Alfred Hospital and as a Flight Nurse in the travel insurance sector. Her extensive experience in emergency and repatriation services, coupled with a steadfast commitment to patient-centred care, underpins the AMES approach. Margaret is widely recognised for her compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail - attributes highly valued by clients and partners alike. Today, she leads a dedicated team of Doctors, Critical Care Registered Nurses, Mobile Intensive Care Paramedics, a 24/7 operations unit, and a Travel Consultant to deliver coordinated, safe, and exceptional medical repatriation services.
Associate Professor Andrew Silvers
Medical Advisor
Associate Professor Andrew Silvers is a Specialist Anaesthetist with more than two decades of experience across Australia and the United States. After his appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Davis Medical Centre - where he focused on cardiothoracic anaesthesia and medical education - he returned to Melbourne to continue his clinical practice. He currently holds appointments at Monash Medical Centre and several leading private hospitals. In 2022, A/Prof. Silvers was appointed inaugural Director of Anaesthesia at the Victorian Heart Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he remains actively involved in academic teaching and research at Monash University, contributing to published medical literature and delivering lectures across the sector.
